Honeypot Productions was founded in 2019 by Rae Ceretto and Kelly Scott.
Rae and Kelly met in New York City in 2009. Kelly was working as an award winning producer for clients in the advertising, music, and fashion industries. Rae was traveling around the world, working as a photographer documenting humanitarian work for the top organizations in the nonprofit sector.
Over decade later, Rae approached Kelly with an idea for a documentary highlighting the stories of the women she met through her work. They quickly found that they shared a desire to pursue purpose based storytelling through documentary filmmaking.
Shortly after, Honeypot Productions was born.
Rae and Kelly have since focused on creating social impact driven documentaries that challenge perceived narratives. Having spent most of their careers often being the only women hired to a team of men, they prioritize hiring female identified crew and staff from diverse backgrounds.
From a young age Rae was always politically active. Her father was a politician and mother a filmmaker, it felt natural to be engaged. She spent her time living with civil rights lawyers in Serbia and documenting political rallies and refugees. At the age of 16 she completed her first documentary short based around the 1999 NATO bombings and death of former Yugoslavian dictator Slobodan Milosevic.
Following the completion of her short film, she graduated with honors from New York University and went on to collaborate with some of the biggest companies in the nonprofit and entertainment world. Her career centered around women, women’s rights, and advocating for refugee communities.
Kelly Scott is an award winning producer with a background in Fine Art. After attending The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York, she began her production career working in fashion, music, and advertising.
Kelly has since worked with a wide range of clients from Disney, to L’Oréal, to Metallica. Her productions have won a Cannes Silver Lion, Ad Age Campaign of the Year, and multiple Experiential Awards from Adweek.
